That Old Flame of Mine Blog Tour

Yikes! What a day! Sorry that this post is late, but things are crazy. So, I was asked to review That Old Flame of Mine by J.J. Cook for a blog tour. I am always looking for new authors, and cozy books to read. I loved the idea for the series. So, finally, her is the review:

Chicago firefighter, Stella Griffin accepts the position of temporary Fire Chief of Sweet Pepper, Tennessee after an on-the-job injury. When she arrives, she has to work it get a volunteer fire brigade up and running before she leaves. Stella has a good team together when their first call comes in. This call is actually a training exercise for the volunteers with a controlled blaze. With a few missteps, the fire is extinguished. The town is thrilled with the new fire brigade that they through a party.

During the celebration, a real fire call comes in. It is at the home of town mover and shaker Tory Lambert. Unfortunately, Tory perishes. This sets up a chain of events that lead to some scary happenings in the quiet town of Sweet Pepper.

With the ghost of the first and only Fire Chief, Eric Gamlyn, haunting the cabin that Stella is living in, this is a great first book in a series that I can't wait to read more of. The characters are great, you feel like you have known them your whole life. There is also the romance that is blooming between Stella and police officer John Trump. He has a few issues that he really needs to get over!! If that isn't enough to whet your appetite, there is a surprise family connection to the town that is just fantastic. I am really looking forward to more from J.J. Cook. A new must read cozy series!!
